Former Duke Blue Devils safety Terry Moore has signed with Ohio State according to multiple reports. He will have one season of eligibility remaining after spending four seasons with the Blue Devils. The transfer portal class now holds 7 commitments, including, Earl Little Jr, Dalton Riggs, Devin McCuin, Mason Williams, Christian Alliegro, and John Walker. The deadline is 4 days away.
The North Carolina native had a fantastic 2024 season for the Blue Devils, starting all 13 games and registering 71 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 4 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles and 6 passes broken up. His play earned him a Second Team All-ACC selection. Moore tore his ACL in January of last year while playing in the Gator Bowl against Ole Miss. the injury forced him to miss all of this season.
The additions of Earl Little Jr and Terry Moore come after the departures of Caleb Downs and Faheem Delane. Downs, who is expected to be a first round pick, declared for the NFL Draft less than one week ago. Faheem Delane recently entered the transfer portal, despite being projected to make an impact for the Buckeyes next season. Other safeties expected to suit up for the Buckeyes next season include Leroy Roker, Blaine Bradford, Deshawn Stewart, Cody Haddad, and Simeon Caldwell. Youth is a trend for this particular position group, but the abundance of talent will pay dividends for this Buckeyes defense.
Terry Moore will now have the chance to reunite with Buckeyes safeties coach Matt Guerrieri, who recruited him while at Duke. Coach Guerrieri has played a key role in making the Buckeyes defense what it is today. If all goes according to plan, Guerrieri could be just what Moore needs to take his play to the next level in 2026.
