Former LSU Tigers wide receiver Kyle Parker has signed with Ohio State, per ON3 Insider Hayes Fawcett. He will have 3 seasons of eligibility remaining. Parker played two seasons for the Tigers, totaling 34 catches, 385 yards, and 5 touchdowns in that span. Parker is the Buckeyes 16th transfer.
Buckeyes wide receivers’ coach Cortez Hankton recruited Parker while he was on the staff at LSU in 2023. Hankton joined the Buckeyes staff in January following the departure of Brian Hartline. Now, Parker will follow his former wide receivers coach to Ohio State. Parker is the second transfer wide receiver in this year’s class to choose the Buckeyes. He joins UTSA wide receiver Devin McCuin.
Adding depth is crucial for the Buckeyes. Bryson Rodgers, Mylan Graham, Quincy Porter Jr, and Bodpegn Miller have all entered the transfer portal and Carnell Tate declared for the NFL Draft. While this shakeup in the wide receivers’ room isn’t ideal, Ryan Day and his staff have done an excellent job at replacing the production that will be lost.
With the addition of Parker, it seems like the Buckeyes could be about done adding in the transfer portal. The next big domino to fall will be the offensive coordinator position. Rumors have swirled about the possibility of going in-house with Keenan Bailey. The Buckeyes could also look to find a candidate at the NFL level, much like they did with Matt Patricia. Whoever Ryan Day decides to bring in, the job will clearly be coveted due to the overwhelming amount of talent. A lot rides on this decision as the Buckeyes cannot afford to come out stagnant like they did under Brian Hartline. The Buckeyes will face a gauntlet of opponents this season and Ryan Day must ensure he employs the right man to take on the challenge in 2026.
