UTSA transfer wide receiver Devin McCuin has signed with Ohio State. The speedster entered the portal on December 30th. Cortez Hankton adds his first commit in his Ohio State tenure. He will have one season of eligibility remaining.
McCuin is now the Buckeyes’ fourth transfer, joining John Walker, Mason Williams, and Dalton Riggs. Wide receiver depth has been a constant in Columbus for many years now. But the Buckeyes face some unfamiliar territory with Quincy Porter, Bryson Rodgers, Mylan Graham, and Carnell Tate set to leave.
The Texas native will get the chance to prove what he can do alongside Jeremiah Smith and Brandon Inniss. He caught 65 receptions for 726 yards and 8 touchdowns in 2025. Known for his speed, McCuin will be just what the Buckeyes need to fill the massive void in the position group. While unproven, freshman wide receiver Chris Henry Jr will also look to compete for the WR3 spot.
With one week left remaining in the new two-week transfer portal period, the Buckeyes will need to be aggressive in their pursuit to add talent before the deadline. The Buckeyes have been plagued by transfers at key positions, and many more are set to make a decision on the NFL Draft. Declarations include Davison Igbinosun, Caleb Downs, Carnell Tate, and Tywone Malone. Transfers include Aaron Scott, Bryce West, Mylan Graham, James Peoples, and more.
Ryan Day and his staff have been busy hosting some of the top talent in the portal. Former Penn State EDGE Chaz Coleman recently visited Ohio State after visiting LSU. Former Alabama Crimson Tide defensive linemen Qua Russaw and James Smith are expected to visit later this week. Targets already off the board include defensive back Kayin Lee, defensive lineman Devan Thompson, and defensive back Bo Mascoe.
